Benjamin Mazzara, otherwise known as Mr. Mazzara, is one of the main characters for the first two seasons in the Disney+ Original Series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. He is a recurring character in Season 4. He is a S.T.E.M Teacher and counselor at East High School. In Season 2, he was the Narrator for East High School's spring production of Beauty and the Beast. In Season 4, he played Coach Jack Bolton for the first act of East High School's fall production of High School Musical 3: Senior Year. He is portrayed by Mark St. Cyr.

Mr. Mazzara is East High’s somewhat stiff S.T.E.M. teacher who believes in preparing students for the future, which leads him to butt heads with the daydreaming Miss Jenn.[1]
Personality[]
Mr. Mazzara is tough, smart and strong-willed. He is adamant on promoting his robotics club to the student in order to gain enough members to prevent it from termination.
Despite having a general disliking for the Drama Club and its teacher, Mr. Mazzara has a more compassionate side to him that he unveils only under certain circumstances. That being said, he is a tough egg to crack.

Early Life[]
Benjamin Mazzara dream school was originally California Tech because they have a great Robotics program but, after applying multiple times he never got accepted. At some point before the events of Season 1, Mr. Mazzara got a job as a S.T.E.M. Teacher at East High School and has been working there ever since.

We see Mr. Mazzara in the opening scene as he talks about the cobbler that he would eat with his exceptionally large family. We also see him with Miss Jenn as he helps her build a pulley system for her fake Troy after she helps him balance his robot using a plié. The episode ends with them watching Big Hero 6 together on a couch.

After hearing the theater kids performing after school, Benjamin tells them to go home and enjoy their Christmas break.
Typecasting[]
Benjamin starts up the East High Morning Show and announces he is looking for someone to host the show. He shares news of the spring musical being directed by Miss Jenn. Since Ricky is debating on wether or not he should audition for the musical this year, Benjamin tells him that that is very like him to not finish something that he starts, which pushes him to audition for Beauty and the Beast.
Valentine’s Day[]
After working late on Valentine's Day, Miss Jenn asks him out for pizza (as friends). When they get to Salt Lake Slices, Miss Jenn sees her crush, Mike Bowen, and Benjamin pushes her to go talk to him. After she walks off, Benjamin smiles at her, hinting the crush he has on her.
