Ejini is the official friendship/romantic pairing between E.J. Caswell and Nini Salazar-Roberts. They are portrayed by Matt Cornett and Olivia Rodrigo.

History[]

Two years prior to the series' beginning, E.J. and Nini were both part of a production in East High's drama department. Nini was in the role of the bottom of a cow when E.J. first saw her. In his words, when he saw her, he was all "who's that cute freshman and why is she playing the bottom of a cow?" Then in the summer before the series began and after Nini and Ricky first broke up, the two of them met at summer camp at Camp Shallow Lake and started a relationship. E.J. got the role of the Music Man in the play they had while Nini was the understudy for Marian the Librarian. So Nini would get the lead, E.J. food poisoned Emily Pratt, who had gotten the role of Marian, and Nini was called to play the role.

Nini video chats E.J.'s cousin Ashlyn Caswell asking her if she wants to Collab with her and write a song together. E.J. happens to be staying with Ashlyn Caswell over Spring Break because their parents went on Vacation without them. E.J. puts a Sock Pocket on his hand and says "Hi Nini."
