- There's an unreleased 1920s dream sequence near the end of season 1 involving only them, rumoured to be about Ricky struggling between Nini and Gina.
- Nini wasn't aware the love triangle had continued in season 2 until The Transformation, weeks after her and Ricky had broken up.
- Ricky confessed to Nini in The Storm that he wanted her to stay with him in SLC "forever", something Gina told Ricky not to text her earlier that day. Many months later in Born to Be Brave, Ricky confessed his love for Gina with Love You Forever, a song he wrote her.
- Nini didn't stay in SLC for Ricky while it was one of the main reasons Gina did.
- Tim's plan was Nini and Ricky would end up together if the show ended at one season. If the show was renewed, Ricky and Gina would have a slow-burn endgame. The latter happened.
- Tim Federle was inspired by the Dawson's Creek love triangle between Dawson, Joey and Pacey.
- Ricky played Troy with Nini's Gabriella in season 1 and Gina's Gabriella in season 4.
- Ricky use to only confide in Nini (and Lynne). But Gina became that person to him, even while he was back together with Nini.
- In an alternate ending of Let It Go, it's revealed Ricky got Gina the chocolates on Valentineās Day while he was still dating Nini.[1] This was later implied to be canon on-screen in Admissions.
